Racing New Zealand

Racing New Zealand is an entity created by the Racing Industry Act 2020 to:

• to act as a consultative forum for the racing codes to facilitate the discussion of issues affecting all racing codes and the adoption of common positions on those issues;
• to represent the racing codes in relation to negotiations and other matters; and
• to perform or exercise any code functions or powers which the codes have delegated to Racing New Zealand.

RNZ Director Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide support to NZTR, HRNZ and GRNZ.
• Maintain compliance with external regulations and internal policies.
• Participate in key discussions relating to media, wagering, wagering and integrity.
• Provide governance support.
• Participate in budget development and monitoring of expenses.
• Provide innovative thinking in broadening the fan base for the three racing codes.

Director Requirements and Qualifications

• Significant work experience as a director or similar position.
• Strong working knowledge of the Racing Industry.
• Familiarity with Racing Industry regulations and standards.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator in a multi stakeholder environment.

Racing New Zealand meets roughly once a month for about two hours.
