The 35th Annual General Meeting of the Auckland/Northland Branch of the Institute of Directors will be held at 9.15am on Tuesday 11 June 2024 at The Northern Club, 19 Princes Street, Auckland.

Future-ready succession
Prior to the AGM, IoD President Jackie Lloyd and independent board chair and director Mark Darrow will speak at a keynote breakfast, discussing ways to approach the challenges of succession planning and recruitment.

Branch Committee Nominations

Under our branch constitution, one third of our branch committee retire by rotation each year and are eligible for re-election if they choose to stand for another term.  Simone Iles and Susan Paterson are retiring by rotation and will be available for re-election to the committee.   

The chair, Jonathan Mason, has announced that two of the Auckland Branch committee members will step down at the AGM, leaving two vacancies.    

Particular skills/competencies sought  

  • Commitment to raising standards of governance 

  • Governance experience and networks at a director level 

  • Knowledge and understanding of how diversity (different ethnicities, cultures, ages, genders and backgrounds) reflects our community 

  • Experience in facilitating and proactively encouraging the development of others 

  • Ability to think strategically at both local and national levels 

  • High level of integrity and sound judgement 

The IoD recognises the benefits of diversity and encourages applications that can add diversity to the Auckland Branch committee.  

This is a voluntary position and applicants must be from the IoD Auckland Branch region. The committee meets 8-10 times per annum and meetings are held in the Auckland CBD.  You will also be invited to and expected to attend a range of local IoD events.  

Nominations for election must be lodged with the Auckland Branch Manager by 5:00pm Tuesday 4 June 2024.   The nominee, nominator and seconder must all be financial members of the Institute of Directors.

If necessary, nominee bios will be distributed to all members prior to the Annual General Meeting.
