Overview

Effective communication and emotional intelligence are pivotal in managing difficult decisions and conversations between boards, the chief executive, and inter-board members. It requires a blend of empathy, active listening, and courage. Boards and executives should foster an environment where open dialogue is encouraged, allowing for differing perspectives to be respectfully heard, acknowledged, and integrated into the decision-making process.

Courageous conversations involve acknowledging discomfort, navigating conflict constructively, and prioritizing the collective good over individual interests, fostering trust and understanding among all stakeholders involved.

Senga Allen

MInstD - Managing Director

“It’s a real privilege to work with businesses to increase profitability through their people."

As Founder and Managing Director of Everest, I have worked in the people and culture industry for nearly 30 years. Having practiced in private and public sector organisations across New Zealand, I enjoy using my expertise to lift performance and provide practical solutions for businesses.

I firmly believe that business excellence comes from excellence in leadership. I regularly work closely with executives and managers to diagnose performance gaps and develop strategies to improve productivity. Being an advocate of promoting clarity and accountability in businesses I can quickly identify ways to increase profitability through the better use of their teams.

My career pathway has included administration, training, consultancy, management and senior executive roles in human resources. I am a professional member of HRINZ, a member of the Institute of Directors and RCSA. I hold qualifications in psychometric profiling, emotional intelligence and business.

Jean Schoultz

People & Culture Specialist

"I am fascinated by people, what they do, how they think, what motivates and drives them."

It is this fascination which drives me to make a significant difference with the people and organisations I work with, both individually and strategically.

Using my extensive coaching experience and knowledge to facilitate positive change, I believe that the key to personal and business success is through empowered people who take ownership, accountability and responsibility for their thoughts, feelings and actions. I work to develop these understandings in the people that I coach and train.

I have facilitated training both locally and internationally focussing on communication, leadership, emotional intelligence, customer service, self-leadership and coaching. Being flexible in my approach I can adapt styles to suit client needs. Being focused on results I believe my role is to challenge the clients thinking and their approach to access their talents and bring about real leadership success. Past management and leadership positions have enabled me to bring practical experience into the coaching and training I facilitate.

I am a qualified INLPTA certified trainer, master practitioner in Neuro Linguistics Programming, certified mBIT (Multiple Brain Integration Techniques) coach, Emotional Intelligence trainer with MSCEIT (Mayer Salovey-Caruso EI test).
