Join us for breakfast with guest speaker Karen Shires, PwC New Zealand’s Chief Risk & Reputation Officer to hear what you as directors should be considering in relation to risk and reputation in the current environment.

Karen Shires

Karen is the Chief Risk & Reputation Officer of PwC New Zealand and a member of their Executive leadership team. Karen has been a Partner at PwC for over 20 years. Karen is a licensed auditor and a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She is also a Global Women member. 

In her role Karen leads PwC’s Risk & Quality teams and Brand and Stakeholder engagement.

Karen provides expert advice to PwC’s teams on conflict identification and management, reputational considerations and all things regulatory. 

Karen’s career highlights and milestones include:

• being the first female audit partner in PwC New Zealand in 2003
• being a key driver behind the establishment of the PwC Foundation in New Zealand
• establishing an independent Audit quality Advisory Board to PwC New Zealand – the first for any firm in New Zealand
• publishing the first Audit Quality Transparency Report in New Zealand in 2020
• 10 years on the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board
