Overview

Assistant Governor/General Manager Economics, Financial Markets and Banking, Karen Silk, will discuss the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s (RBNZ’s) November Monetary Policy Statement and economic projections.

The quarterly Official Cash Rate is announced on 27 November so get the very latest, timely analysis. What is the process used which leads to a cut in the OCR?  How did the process play out in the latest rate cut?  What is the current outlook for the RBNZ on economic growth, inflation, and unemployment? Does economic growth and lower inflation equal a healthy economy or does the RBNZ consider other factors in their assessment of a healthy economy?
