Following the Climate Governance Workshop, join us for a tour of the Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Following the Climate Governance Workshop, join us for a tour of the Rosedale Wastewater Treatment Plant to witness firsthand the impressive infrastructure and sustainable practices in action. This facility, serving 250,000 people from Devonport to Long Bay, is a model of innovation and environmental responsibility.
A standout feature of the Rosedale plant is its use of renewable energy. The facility generates electricity from waste solids through a cogeneration engine, covering up to 80% of its energy needs. Additionally, New Zealand's first floating solar array, installed in 2020, contributes to reducing the plant's greenhouse gas emissions by 145 tonnes annually.
This tour offers a unique opportunity to explore how a key infrastructure asset contributes to climate goals, sustainability, and the circular economy. It's a valuable experience for directors looking to understand practical climate action within an operational context. Join us to see the future of wastewater management and energy sustainability at Watercare.
