For early stage directors wanting to take their next steps in governance.
The director gateway forum caters to aspiring directors in the early stages who are looking to progress in governance. Anushiya Ponniah, a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors, will be discussing her journey in governance.

Anushiya has held significant leadership roles including CEO and Chief Financial Officer in the health sector over 20 years. Born and raised in Sri Lanka, she is committed to advancing indigenous wellbeing and for past five years has focussed her efforts on Māori wellbeing working closely with iwi and hapū based providers.
Anushiya is a Chartered Director, and her career in governance started early in her 20s when the company she worked for required her to step into a governance role. She is currently on the board of Child Fund New Zealand and The Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand. Anushiya has held a long-term interest in education, has lectured for University of Otago MBA programme, held governance roles as emerging director with Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi and board member of New Zealand Institute of Management Southern.
