Join us for this exclusive lunch to hear from ASB’s Chief Executive Vittoria Shortt and ASB Chief Economist Nick Tuffley who will discuss the many challenges facing the New Zealand economy.
Resilience and leadership are the cornerstones for New Zealand’s businesses navigating uncertain times. ASB’s CEO Vittoria Shortt will discuss how ASB is responding to the economic downturn, cost of living challenges and the impacts of the recent weather events, all in an election year.
Nick Tuffley will join Vittoria Shortt in answering your questions during the ample Q&A with the live audience.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
Vittoria has been the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ASB Bank since February 2018.
Leading a team of nearly 5,900 people, Vittoria is focused on accelerating the financial future of all New Zealanders by delivering experiences that are simple and easy every day and brilliant when it matters for its people, customers, and community. In addition, and building on ASB’s 175-year history, her drive is also to ensure ASB plays its part in supporting a more resilient and sustainable New Zealand.
With 20 years’ experience in banking across corporate strategy, retail banking, mergers and acquisitions and operations, Vittoria has held several senior leadership roles since joining ASB’s parent company, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in 2002.
Vittoria’s career began in New Zealand, working in Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions with Deloitte and Carter Holt Harvey.
Vittoria holds a Bachelor of Management Studies majoring in Accounting and Finance from Waikato University and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand.
Vittoria is currently Chair of the New Zealand Banking Association. She is also a member of Global Women in New Zealand and Chief Executive Women in Australia reinforcing her strong advocacy of diversity and inclusion, mentoring women working in the financial and marketing sectors.
