Join us for this webcast to discuss the governance lessons for directors from our panel who recently completed the Spark AI Mini-MBA.
IoD CE Kirsten (KP) Patterson was recently awarded a scholarship from Spark to participate in the Executive AI for Business Mini-MBA course run by US based training provided Section. Over five weeks the AI Mini-MBA helped 150 participants assess AI’s potential and develop an AI strategy for their business. The programme is part of Spark’s programme of initiatives to help accelerate New Zealand businesses one technology generation forward with digital technologies.
Spark and NZIER’s 2024 Report on New Zealand’s productivity challenges and opportunities has identified that artificial intelligence can enable productivity gains far beyond labour productivity alone. Among New Zealand businesses, the link between business strategy and the role of technology to improve productivity shows potential to be far stronger, particularly with the rapid development of generative AI. Global studies estimate the use of generative AI, when combined with other technologies, could raise productivity by up to 3.3% annually. NZIER’s survey of New Zealand businesses highlights that when it comes to digital technology, generative AI is the biggest knowledge gap identified by business leaders, with 44% agreeing they lack enough information on this.
Join us for a webcast with three of the IoD members who participated on the AI Mini-MBA who will share their learnings, their reflections and their insights into the transformative power of AI and its implications for directors in New Zealand.
