The Institute of Directors (IoD) released a brief for boards wanting to prevent sexual harassment in their organisations today.

Sexual harassment is unacceptable in the workplace, and has an immense impact on staff workplace culture. The guide Sexual Harassment and the Board’s Role - #TimesUp is a response to recent controversies, and aims to help boards ensure they are creating a zero tolerance approach to sexual harassment in the workplace.

The guide provides information on a board’s legal responsibilities, high level questions to shape risk management discussions in the boardroom, and suggested reporting processes for sexual harassment and breaches of ethical behaviour.

While DirectorsBriefs are usually available exclusively to members, this brief has been released to the public in order to help create safe workplaces across New Zealand.
