ASB and Spark join us to share their insights on improving productivity through innovation, collaboration, upskilling, and the use of digital technologies
Aotearoa New Zealand’s productivity challenge is well documented. New Zealanders generate significantly less output than many other developed countries, despite working longer and harder.
Join us for a discussion from two of New Zealand’s largest companies ASB and Spark NZ who have been looking into the productivity paradox and the role they can respectively play, as a bank and digital services provider, to support productivity growth.
ASB’s Nick Tuffley, Chief Economist, will speak to the role of business in leading the charge in improving productivity through innovation, collaboration and upskilling people’s knowledge and capability.
While Tony Agar, General Manager of Spark Group Sales – Northern Region, from Spark NZ, will explore the significant opportunity of increasing productivity through an uplift in the use of advanced digital technologies.
Completing the line-up, a local director will share what steps their board has taken to enable productivity, including leveraging innovative technological solutions.
You’ll also hear about:
Following the candid fireside chat session there will be an opportunity for Q&As.
This event is brought to you in partnership with IoD national partner ASB.

Nick speaks at a variety of functions large and small from gatherings of corporate customers, through industry conferences, to large cocktail functions for customers. He has spoken in shearing sheds, wineries, art galleries, the Air Force museum, and ambulance stations. And of course, in recent years he has spent a lot of time Zooming into people’s screens.
Tony Agar is General Manager of Spark Group Sales for its Northern region. Tony started his Spark career at Telecom Business 15 years ago in Wellington and has worked across and led a number of Spark teams, including commercial, pricing, strategy, sales, marketing and solutions.
