Join us for this fireside chat led by local director and energy efficiency specialist Jonathan Pooch.
Local director and energy efficiency specialist Jonathan Pooch was on-the-ground to present at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2023. He has actively followed developments around this year's COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Conference of Parties (COP) is the series of formal meetings where governments assess global efforts to advance the Paris Agreement and the Convention, with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C as informed by the latest science.
At COPs, world and business leaders come together to measure progress and negotiate the best ways to address climate change. Jonathan will be sharing his insights and perspectives from attending and engaging with this critical forum.

Jonathan Pooch is Founder and Managing Director of DETA Consulting. DETA supports industrial and commercial clients throughout Australasia to develop and deliver sustainability strategies to ensure improvement goals are realised. Jonathan is an experienced energy professional with over 20 years in the industry.
Some key career highlights include supporting the Climate Leaders Coalition’s response to the government as part of the Climate Change Commission consultation, development of a South Island wide decarbonisation roadmap and the installation of New Zealand’s first High Temperature Heat Pump.
Jonathan attended and presented at COP28 in Dubai and has actively followed developments at COP29 in Azerbaijan.
