In our 2024 Director Sentiment Survey, produced by the Institute of Directors and ASB, 28.1% of the 1,240 responses were from directors of not-for-profit (NFP) organisations, up from 25.4% in 2023.

The top governance issue facing NFP boards, once again, was social impact and values (76% for NFP directors compared with 63.6% for All other respondents) and the five key focus areas for NFP boards were:

    • Financial sustainability and funding
    • Governance and risk management
    • People and workforce management
    • Strategy
    • Government

This is the fifth year we have released key insights from the NFP sector as part of the Director Sentiment Survey.  Read more about the concerns revealed and the notable variations between the views of NFP directors and ALL respondents to the survey.
