In addition to her commercial advisory work, she holds non-executive directorship roles across several sectors of the New Zealand economy. These roles include chairing audit, finance and risk committees and overseeing digital transformation. She is a past president of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and has been recognised for her leadership and governance contributions with the Supreme Award for Excellence in Governance from Women on Boards.

Abby is a professional director with over 10 years’ experience as a full time independent director, having served on both listed and Crown companies.
With qualifications in both law and accounting, Abby’s executive career encompassed both disciplines, focusing on corporate finance and commercial transactions. She has experience in a number of diverse areas including mergers and acquisitions, treasury and structured finance transactions, telecommunications, management of large projects and strategy.
As a professional director, Abby has experience in a wide range of areas including strategic development and implementation, governance of significant transactions, stakeholder engagement, risk management, health & safety and ESG issues. She is an experienced Board and Committee chair.
Abby is currently a director of KMD Brands Limited and Freightways Limited. She is also a member of the Steering Committee of Chapter Zero New Zealand. Previous roles include Chair of Christchurch City Holdings Limited and of Z Energy Limited and as a director of Sanford; Transpower; TVNZ; Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa; Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) and the Local Government Funding Agency (LGFA). Abby is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
Richard Leggat

Richard is a full-time professional director with his most recent appointment being the independent Board Chair of Auckland Transport from February 2024. Richard has been a professional director for over 10 years with a range of public sector and private sector roles along with directorships on sports, conservation and iwi boards. Previous roles include NZ Post, Tourism NZ, Warren and Mahoney, and Eke Panuku.
Prior to becoming a director Richard worked in the finance sector for 15 years and prior to that in apparel manufacturing. He is a keen outdoors person and sportsman having played cricket at provincial level and is a regular cyclist and skier. Other current roles include:- Chair of Save the Kiwi, Chair of Hamilton Waikato Tourism, Chair of Westhaven Marina Limited, Trustee of Rakiura Māori Lands Trust, Member of the UCI Ethics Commission, Director of the Winter Games.

As a Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, Alec has focused his career on addressing the breadth of sustainability challenges and opportunities that are increasingly shaping our communities, society and economy. This has included a range of leadership positions in academia, business and the public sector, alongside an active involvement in professional institutions, industry associations and networking groups.
Through these roles, Alec has become well-practised in the identification of strategic and operational sustainability risks as well as the development and delivery of solutions to meet these challenges. Alec has successfully built and led numerous diverse, multi-disciplinary teams through a focus on common values, aligned purpose and trust. His work has ranged from the development of high-level regional strategies on climate change, liveability and wellbeing, incorporating broad stakeholder and community engagement, through to the design and delivery of specific interventions and the creation of impact measures to gauge their success.
Alec’s diverse background means that he can couple an in-depth knowledge of organisational sustainability risks with an understanding of the operational contexts and behaviours that are present within complex organisations. In addition to these broad strategic and technical insights, his strengths include the core communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively engage and collaborate with the internal and external stakeholders that are critical to delivering long term transformation sustainability change.
