The regulatory and legal implications of climate change are becoming increasingly heightened. Precedents in climate litigation are being set somewhere in the world almost every other day, new regulations are being set that are impacting across entire value chains, and stakeholders are demanding increased transparency and disclosures from customers.
Climate risks aren’t just physical. Directors need to understand what’s new and what’s in the pipeline from regulators, policymakers, investors, and stakeholders, domestically and internationally, to remain competitive.

Rob is the Chairman of Silver Fern Farms Limited, Farmlands Co-operative Society Limited, New Zealand Woolscours Limited (Woolworks), Fern Energy Limited, Hilton Haulage Limited, Rewiring Aotearoa and Pioneer Energy Limited, as well as a Director of T&G Global Limited, Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Limited and Woolcorp Limited.
Rob is immediate past chair of Silver Fern Farms Co-operative limited, a past Councilor of Lincoln University and previous Chair of the Strong Wool Action Group (now Wool Impact).
He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a graduate of Lincoln University, holding an M.Com (hons)- (Marketing)and a B.Com (Ag) (Economics).
Rob farms 10,000 sheep and beef stock units on a carbon negative breeding/finishing and forestry farm of 1020ha in Manuka Gorge, South Otago.
Rob won the Deloitte Top 200 Chair of the Year award in 2023, and the Co-operative Business New Zealand Outstanding Contribution Award in 2019.
Florence is the Global Sustainability Lead at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Prior to starting her role at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, she co-founded Chia Sisters, a health beverage company supplying cafes and supermarkets nationally and in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Chia Sisters is a solar-powered, Zero Carbon and B Corp certified company. Florence is a Trustee and Co-Founder of Businesses for Climate Action. For her work in business and climate change, she is recognised as an Edmund Hillary Fellow.
Florence is a lawyer by training, previously working at Bell Gully and for the United Nations. In 2022 she graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a Masters of Laws focused on business and climate change.
Daniel Street is the Sustainability and ESG Lead Partner for DLA Piper in New Zealand and co-leads DLA Piper International’s Disclosure, Reporting, and Marketing group. A recognised thought leader on sustainability and climate change legal issues, Daniel is a regular commentator who shares insights across various media channels.
Daniel specialises in climate-related disclosures, sustainability reporting, greenwashing risks, and climate litigation. He has advised New Zealand’s largest companies and international clients on sustainability and ESG issues across the Asia Pacific. This work often involves horizon scanning, cross-jurisdictional risk assessments, and supply chain issues.
His strategic approach makes him a trusted adviser to organisations navigating the complexities of sustainability in an evolving regulatory landscape.

Judene is a Principal Governance Adviser with the Institute of Directors’ Governance Leadership Centre and Chapter Zero NZ lead providing best practice advice, guidance and advocacy for directors. She is also a trustee of the Rātā Foundation and Network Tasman Trust, and Chair of the Nelson Historic Theatre Trust.
The IoD are the New Zealand hosts of Chapter Zero leading and supporting a range of projects including the Board Toolkit, Scenarios Analysis and Board Structures resources. Prior to joining the IoD she ran her own consultancy for over 20 years specialising in governance, policy, strategy and communications working across a wide range of sectors, including housing, health, solid waste, aviation, energy, not-for-profit and infrastructure.
She was a local government elected member for 12 years and a director on a range of private and public entity boards. She has a background in behavioural science and communications and is a Chartered Member of the IoD.

It is the home for climate change governance at the IoD and aims to support directors to meet their fiduciary duties by supporting them with the skills, tools, processes and information they need to act and guide their companies through the challenges of climate change.
