Overview

David will share insights on how to positively disrupt yourself, leveraging strategies from his book co-authored with Dr Jo Cribb CFInstD, both former CEOs who have successfully transitioned to portfolio careers. Drawing on experiences from a diverse range of successful business leaders, David will provide actionable advice on how to manage your career in a post-Covid work environment facing challenges such as AI and the search for meaningful work.

This practical guide addresses the high-speed changes ahead for workers and offers key principles to not just survive but thrive in the new world of work.

The session will close with a brief update from David on the latest happenings around the IoD board table, followed by a short Q&A session.

David Glover

CFInstD

David has worked as a CEO and board director in the UK, Australia, Indonesia and New Zealand. He is a Chartered Fellow of the IoD, with expertise in strategy development, business transformation, technology and brand marketing. He has led advertising agencies, a state-owned enterprise, a tertiary institution and founded and sold entrepreneurial businesses. He has broad industry experience and connections across the commercial, not for profit and government sectors.

Current governance roles include Chair of Trust Horizon, Synapsys and Dev Academy Aotearoa, and Trustee of Eastbay REAP, Toi Economic Development Agency and the Bay of Plenty Education Trust. He is a member of the national IoD board.
