Overview

This health and safety governance update provides an overview of officer obligations under the HSWA (Health and Safety at Work Act), introducing key terms and concepts central to meeting these obligations, while providing practical information on how to deliver best practice governance.

Under Chatham House Rule Melissa will present relevant industry and case law examples from recent high profile cases she has been involved with.

Melissa Vining

Melissa is an experienced human resources consultant with over 20 years working in management, human resources and as a health and safety specialist.

Currently managing the Human Resources and Health & Safety Consulting team, Melissa has held key management roles with reputable New Zealand companies which led her to specialise in human resources and health and safety across all levels.

Melissa specialises in health and safety. She is a competent auditor of health and safety systems and can facilitate the development and implementation of health and safety management systems. Melissa is a member of NZISM, HRINZ and NZIPIM.

Melissa has a special interest in the agricultural sector having previously owned and directed dairy farms.
