Mentoring for Diversity terms and conditions

By submitting your application to the Mentoring for Diversity programme you agree and confirm each of the following:

  1. The information provided in the application to the Institute of Directors is true and accurate at the time of lodging.
  2. You understand that you will be notified by the Institute of Directors as to whether your application was successful or unsuccessful by email on or before 31 May, and that no further discussion or review of your application will be entered into.
  3. You understand and accept the aims and limitations of the Mentoring for Diversity programme in that it does not guarantee you a role on a board.
  4. You consent to the Institute of Directors contacting your nominated referees, should you be shortlisted, and for the purpose of final selection.
  5. You consent to the Institute of Directors providing a copy of your application form (or extract from it) and/or CV to a number of mentors participating in the Mentoring for Diversity programme for the purpose of matching.
  6. All personal information collected by the Institute of Directors for the purpose of the Mentoring for Diversity programme is handled, and may be disclosed, in accordance with the Institute of Directors privacy policy. You consent to information collected by the Institute of Directors being used for programme marketing and publicity purposes including the listing of mentee names in Boardroom magazine, on the IoD website and the IoD’s LinkedIn channel.

If selected in the Mentoring for Diversity Programme you agree:

  1. The Institute of Directors may publicly disclosing your full name and region in relevant materials and communications.
  2. You are responsible for all expenses incurred as a result of travelling and attending events in association with this programme.
  3. You will notify the Institute of Directors of any board positions you obtain as a result of the Mentoring for Diversity programme.
  4. Photos taken at events may be used to market the Mentoring for Diversity programme.
  5. You will provide feedback during or after the programme in a timely manner, as requested from time to time.
  6. You will conduct yourself in a professional and ethical manner at all times and refrain from any conduct that may harm your mentor or mentor’s reputation.
  7. You will respect the confidentiality of the relationship by not disclosing your mentor’s name unless agreed with your mentor.
  8. You will keep confidential any information shared with you by your mentor and will not disclose any such information to anyone unless expressly authorised by your mentor.
  9. You will seek to avoid any conflicts between your interests and the interests of your mentor. If any actual conflict of interests or the potential for a conflict of interests arises, you will openly disclose that fact to your mentor and discuss how to deal with it in an appropriate manner.
  10. You will only use personal information supplied to you about your mentor (either by the Institute of Directors or your mentor) in a manner expressly authorised by your mentor
  11. If requested, you will share your insights and experiences of the programme through IoD networks and articles.
