Congratulations to our 2024 Emerging Directors
Members nationwide have been honoured by their branches with Emerging Director Awards.
Ten members with combined governance experience spanning transport, health, te ao Māori and the arts have won Emerging Director Awards for 2024.
The awards are bestowed by local branches of the Institute of Directors to recognise leadership, integrity and enterprise in directors in the early stages of their governance career. Candidates must have fewer than five years governance experience, and demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and best-practice governance.
Award recipients receive a combination of the following, depending on the branch they are a member of:

- Complimentary membership with the IoD for 12 months
- Complimentary attendance at local branch functions for 12 months
- Mentoring or placement on a board as an observer for 12 months (varies across branches)
- A financial contribution towards IoD professional development (varies across branches)
