Advisory boards: what they are and how they operate
Advisory boards sit alongside governing boards and the management to provide insights that benefit both groups.
I’m the managing director and co-founder of Productspec, an online community of more than 50,000 architects, designers, AEC industry professionals, contractors, specifiers and homeowners – I guess that makes me what they call an ‘Internet entrepreneur’. This community uses Productspec each month to easily source and specify architecture, design and landscape products, access technical specifications, environmental data, and download CAD and BIM content.
Before Productspec, I was a practicing architect and course co-ordinator at Victoria University School of Architecture and…you guessed it…I’m passionate about the built environment. My background in architecture and design, project management and business systems analytics has given me the scope to manage both the Productspec team and other key project developments and achieve exponential business growth.
I’m originally from Spain, was educated in the UK – BA Hons in Architecture from Manchester University, a Bachelor in Fine Art from Wimbledon School of Art, and a Diploma of Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London – and now live in New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington.
