Organisation description
Mary Potter Hospice has a proud history of care, compassion and commitment to the people of Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti. Their vision is that people in the communities who need palliative care have access to high quality compassionate care when and where they need it. They have supported people with life limiting illnesses and their families and Whānau for over 40 years.

The Board has two members retiring and is seeking to appoint two new members. These are voluntary roles.
The Board is focussed on ensuring it has a diverse range of members in the collective decision making around the board table.
Applications are invited from those with expertise in such areas as:
- Previous governance experience
- Ability to set vision and strategic direction
- Financial experience and business skills
- Clinical background or health sector experience
- Strong networks, links and relationships to the communities in the region which may include, local iwi, hapu and the Pasifika communities
- Community involvement and connections (fund raising and friend raising).
Commitment required
There are generally 8 - 9 meetings a year.
Time commitments may also involve Board sub committees and attending functions throughout the year.
