Young Directors' Network Steering Group

The IoD Young Directors' Network Steering Group began as a pilot in Auckland in 2023 to support young directors in both governance and operational roles and to promote the value they bring to boards.

Following the success of the 2-year pilot, the Young Directors’ Network was launched nationwide as a shared interest group. Our steering group members work closely with staff to deliver events and content to support young directors throughout Aotearoa.

Our focus is to challenge assumptions that may hold young directors back, create opportunities to connect, and showcase the talented young directors already making an impact and ready for further board roles.

The IoD is committed to increasing the visibility, influence, and participation of young directors in governance, while championing diversity as a key driver of better decision-making.
