James Pomeroy

Born and raised in Christchurch, James Pomeroy is currently the Chief Executive of Pomeroy Group. A hospitality industry leader, it provides comprehensive advisory, permanent recruitment and temporary staffing as well as HR consulting and governance services for small to medium sized businesses across Aotearoa. Leading a small team of in-house industry professionals, Contract Management of a number of notable hospitality organisations as well as managing 100+ temporary staff to be available at a moment’s notice, 24/7. James’ areas of speciality within the Advisory space are Human Resources, People & Culture, strategy/governance and professional development. James’ vision is to showcase hospitality as more than just a job, but a professional career choice like any other industry. 
 
He also holds a number of governance roles across the motu within hospitality, youth development, Arts and Rainbow Communities at Central Government level. He is also a Committee Member for the Canterbury Branch of the Institute of Directors. His continued professional development has allowed him great insight into the many challenges Boards & organisations of all shapes and sizes face in a fast-paced, changing environment, with understanding how to apply pragmatic solutions.
